With the rapid expansion of the steel industry in the Philippines, 2025-2026 local steel enterprises have pushed forward their capacity upgrading, and the demand for steel prefabricated beams, as the core components of infrastructure such as bridges, high-rise buildings, and transmission towers, has risen sharply. However, at the same time, the internal logistics link of most prefabricated beam factories in the Philippines is facing a development bottleneck that is difficult to break through and has become a key factor restricting the release of production capacity.

 

Project Background

 

It is difficult to handle precast steel girders in the Philippines, and a single girder can reach tens or even hundreds of tons, with a length of 10-30 meters and frequent handling. At present, most factories follow the traditional mode of forklift traction or crane transfer, low efficiency, many hidden dangers, and the demand for expansion is out of touch with the internal logistics upgrade is imperative.

 

Solution: Automatic Guided Transfer Cart System for Precast Girders

 

Aiming at the core pain points of precast girder factories, we launched the exclusive precast girder transfer cart system, and finally selected  automatic guided transfer vehicle (AGV) as the core equipment, the core reason is that it precisely matches the actual needs of Philippine factories.

In terms of load capacity and platform size, we adopt a modular customized design, which can be customized according to the specifications of Philippine prefabricated steel girders, from 5-200 tons, and the length of the platform can be extended to more than 30 meters, which is a perfect match for the handling of heavy-duty and long-sized components, and avoids the extrusion and deformation of the components.

In terms of route planning logic, combined with the weak infrastructure and compact workshop layout that is common in Philippine factories, the system adopts laser SLAM + inertial navigation dual technology to support trackless and flexible operation, and can flexibly set routes according to the existing plant layout and production flow, without the need for large-scale renovation of the plant, which significantly reduces the cost of renovation and the construction period.

The system fits seamlessly with the existing layout of Philippine prefabricated girder factory, no matter it is the production area, maintenance area, storage area or loading area, transfer cart can shuttle freely without taking up too much extra space, and it is suitable for the common working conditions of Philippine factories, such as high temperature, dust and so on, and can be put into use quickly without changing the existing production rhythm.

 

Core Engineering Design for Heavy Load Transfer Cart

 

Aiming at the handling characteristics of heavy precast girders, the engineering design of our omnidirectional transfer cart focuses on stability, smooth operation, and precise stopping, which is in line with the demand of Philippine factories for equipment reliability. The structural frame adopts high-strength alloy steel, evenly disperses the load, and the deformation of full load is controlled at the millimeter level. The hydraulic support cylinder is installed to improve the stability of heavy load.

The wheel system adopts multi-wheel distributed drive and permanent magnet synchronous motor, which makes the start braking impact-free, and the special rubber wheels are adapted to the floor of the factory.

The control is equipped with industrial PLC and AI algorithms, which realize accurate positioning (±10mm) and obstacle avoidance warning, and completely solve the pain point of the traditional handling and positioning inaccuracies. Seamless Integration with Cranes and Production Lines

 

Our transfer cart system does not operate in isolation, focusing on synergies with existing cranes and production lines in the Philippines prefabricated girder factories, through a clear division of labor, eliminating logistics bottlenecks, and improving the efficiency of material flow in all aspects.

In terms of division of labor, the crane focuses on prefabricated beam lifting, responsible for lifting components from the mold to omnidirectional transfer cart platform, and from transfer cart to the storage rack or transport vehicle.

Transfer cart focuses on horizontal transportation to undertake the transfer of components in various processes, changing the crane lifting and transportation inefficiency mode. In the traditional mode, frequent round trips of cranes are easy to cause congestion in the process, and after automatic guided transfer vehicle is put into use, it can realize parallel lifting and transportation, reduce the ineffective movement of cranes, enhance the continuity of production, and realize the automated transfer of prefabricated beams in the whole process through seamless docking to help the factory release its production capacity.
